Tori Everard
 

Tori is a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist who graduated from Monash University in 2009. After spending majority of her career working in the public system, Tori’s passion for all things female came about after the birth of her first child, and since then she has completed post graduate training in the field of Women's Health and Pelvic Floor/Continence Physiotherapy and has made it her mission to ensure all women are empowered to feel the best they can. She believes that Physiotherapy can really change your life.

 

Tori has special interests in helping and supporting women during their childbearing years to recover and return to activities they enjoy (especially after birth trauma, instrumental deliveries and obstetric tears), breastfeeding support, and management of abdominal separation. It is her goal to help all women achieve their goals and return to happy and active lives.

Tori is also currently studying her Masters of Pelvic Health at the University of Melbourne and is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

PHILOSOPHY
Pregnancy
Postpartum

First appointment recommended around 16-20 weeks, then at 34-36 weeks to prepare the body and pelvic floor for birth.

​

Care includes:

 

  • musculoskeletal aches and pains

  • pelvic floor dysfunction (incontinence and prolapse management)

  • birth preparation including pelvic floor assessment, active birth skills, perineal massage and TENS set up

  • safe exercise in pregnancy including exercise for GDM

First appointment recommended 4-6 weeks after birth

 

(if you have any pain or difficulties, the sooner the better. Conversely it’s never too late - postpartum is forever!)

Care includes:

​

  • Rehabilitation of your pelvic floor and abdominal muscles

  • Recovery after 3rd and 4th degrees tear

  • Recovery after instrumental delivery (forceps/vacuum)

  • Prolapse assessment and management

  • Abdominal separation and management

  • Scar management

  • Advice regarding returning to running or high impact exercise

Breastfeeding Support
Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation

Care designed to create pain free breast feeding experience without pharmaceutical intervention.

Care includes:

​

 

  • Low Level Laser Therapy for nipple damage

  • Therapeutic Ultrasound for inflammatory conditions of the lactating breast including mastitis (avoids unnecessary use of antibiotics)

  • whole breast lymphatic massage

The pelvic floor is a crucial muscle that supports us more than we realise in our every day life.
 

 

Care includes treatment for:
 

 

  • Pelvic Pain

  • Endometriosis associated pain

  • Hip and coccyx pain that has not responded to usual treatment

  • Urinary Incontinence

  • Bowel dysfunction

  • Pelvic organ prolapse

  • Faecal Incontinence including rectal balloon therapy

Children's Continence

A women's body is incredible, but at certain times of our lives we need extra support and care. 

 

Care includes:

 

  • Breast and gynaecological cancer rehabilitation and support (during or after treatment)

  • Osteoporosis management

  • Healthy ageing assessments

  • Falls and balance assessments

  • Fragility fracture management

Every child reserves the best start to life! Conservative management is s recommended by the International Childrens Continence Society as the first-line treatment for most types of urinary issues in children.
 

 

  • Conservative management of daytime wetting and bed wetting

  • Management of functional consitpation

  • Faecal soiling/incontinence
